Cookie policy
What cookies this site uses and how you control them. Last updated: September 30, 2026.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies can be "essential" (needed for the site to work) or "non-essential" (used for things like analytics and advertising).
Cookies we use
- Consent preference (essential) — we store a single local value remembering whether you accepted or rejected cookies. This is necessary so we can honor your choice and is not used for tracking.
- Google Analytics (non-essential, opt-in) — Accept enables the _ga and _ga_* cookies for this site's separate Analytics property. They last up to sixty days. Reject prevents the Google tag from loading and removes existing Analytics cookies from this site.
- Account session (essential) — the __Host-sfa_session cookie keeps you logged in and protects account forms. It is Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax. A logged-in session lasts up to twelve hours; a session before login lasts one hour. Logging out invalidates it.
- Registration attribution — the __Host-sfa_ref cookie holds an opaque referral identifier used to attribute registration purchases. It is Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax, lasts up to 400 days, and refreshes on site visits. Server attribution records have no automatic expiration. A registration counts until the seminar date, or forever for evergreen seminars. A saved registration link or account association can preserve attribution after the browser cookie expires.
Stripe-hosted checkout may use its own cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention. Rejecting Analytics does not disable account sessions or registration attribution.
How consent works
A banner appears before any non-essential cookie is set. You can choose Accept or Reject. Rejecting is just as effective as accepting: no non-essential cookies will be set, and we remember your choice on this device.
Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings in any page's footer to reopen the banner. Choose Reject to stop analytics and remove its cookies, or Accept to enable it. Your choice is saved in local storage; clearing site data resets it. Rejecting after acceptance reloads the page to stop the previously loaded tag.
